L-tert-leucine is a kind of amino acid that can be used to produce many pharmaceutical intermediates, such as Atazanavir and Telaprevir. It is white crystals or crystalline powder under room temperature. It is very easily soluble in water, hardly soluble in ethyl alcohol, not soluble in diethyl ether and n-butyl alcohol. It is with slightly smelly and little sweet flavor.
